We are back in another lockdown and many of us will be missing going out, socialising and enjoying fine food and tasty, meals.   Thanks though to the hard work of local pubs and restaurants, regular diners can still enjoy their favourite dishes (and explore new one's) in the comfort and safety of their own homes. 

This week is the first week of the Government's newly rolled out 'Eat Out to Help Out' scheme.  The scheme has been introduced to assist the economy, most notably the food and hospitality industry which has been impacted following the recent months of Lockdown during the COVID 19 pandemic.   This is a great opportunity which enables families to discover new foods and eateries and/or simply return to their favourites at a reduced price.

I thought I would write these walks after a new neighbour asked me where she could go for a walk.  I live close to the Cricket Ground in Lancaster and I like nothing more than leaving the car at home and heading off on foot.    Today I thought I would share with you a walk I enjoy alongside the banks of the River Lune. 

To kick off our new area guides, we are beginning our journey in the very heart of Lancaster - LA1 1.  

We will be exploring lots of different aspects of the city centre including popular streets, great investments, local businesses and even the popular parks in the area. Be sure to keep an eye out for what we discover!

When you walk around the city centre if you look up, there are so many interesting features that we normally miss.
