The Pantone Colour of 2022 has been revealed.

Posted on Thursday, December 30, 2021

As 2021 draws to a close, the Pantone Colour of 2022 has been revealed.  These are the colours that will inspire designers and decor schemes around the world.   For the first time ever, Pantone decided to create a whole new colour that wasn’t in its existing catalogue of colours. They have named it Very Peri.

Whilst we feel it has a nod towards purple, Pantone the creators describe it as “Encompassing the qualities of the blues, yet at the same time possessing a violet-red undertone, Pantone 17-3938 Very Peri displays a spritely, joyous attitude and dynamic presence that encourages courageous creativity and imaginative expression."

Pantone says the colour has been inspired and created by the merging of the physical and digital landscape we now live in. It is an interesting thought as we come out of coronavirus lockdowns and look out how the world has changed and moved forward in such a short period of time.

The question is, how can this colour be used in your home?

Your front door

If you have a traditional front door, very peri is a striking colour that is also modern and fun. Team it with brushed stainless steel door furniture for a very stylish look.

The Lounge

In the lounge, I would add Veri Peri through fabrics. You could look for cushions that had a subtle hint of this beautiful shade. Maybe add a feature wallpaper to the alcoves of a chimney breast. This colour would look fabulous teamed with pale greys.

The kitchen

In the kitchen, I would go more subtle. Add flowers with a very peri hue to a stylish white vase so the colour stands out.

The bedroom

Imagine your bedroom with crisp white bedding. Now paint one wall in Veri Peri. Add a luxurious throw and your bedroom will look modern, warm and very regal. Team it with a pale grey carpet.

The garden

In the garden, you can have lots of fun. Paint your garden shed in very peri.  Change your cushion covers on your outdoor sofa to very peri.  Or simply plant lavender which has a very similar colour and will make your garden smell beautiful.  Plus you’ll attract lots of bees and butterflies!

What do you think about the Pantone Colour of 2022? Is it a thumbs up or a thumb down from you? We would love to know!
