If you're looking for a family fun weekend with some live music, why not head down to Morecambe this coming Saturday for Neuro Drop In's 10 birthday celebrations! The award-winning neurological charity is hosting a fun-filled day at the 'Jo 'n' Lee’s by the Sea Cafe' which is based at the site of the former VVV gym. To commemorate 10 years of supporting our local communities, a number of their members are looking to complete their final '10th Marathon challenge to celebrate the 10 years' which this service has been operating. As well as this, local live bands including 'The Hound Dogs' and 'Do You Like Worms?' will be performing and with a raffle being drawn there's plenty to enjoy. This will all of course support a local café and local charity, should be lots of fun!
Staying in Morecambe now and we are all excited to learn that from today, local residents will be able to see the latest Eden North Project plans! There has certainly been a buzz around the area since the concept was initially announced and planning for a 2024 opening has continued behind the scenes despite the impact of the global pandemic. The virtual event is available to view online for 3 weeks from today and will feature inciteful videos and presentations, giving residents and visitors feedback to help shape the finished result!
Residents in Caton and Littledale have recently appealed to the local community for help in planting trees and wildflowers in locations throughout the village. Caton is a beautiful village located North of Lancaster on the banks of the Lune Valley and residents have expressed a desire to create and improve green spaces in the area. Organisers are planning to work alongside a leading expert and share tips and ideas on how to utilise this wonderful area. We look forward to visiting and seeing the new additions in the coming week's and months
!
And finally.. we leave you with a funny story about the extremes that a fare evading passenger took on a recent train journey through Lancaster. The unnamed man in question was trying to evade the Train Manager by attempting to hide in a luggage rack covering himself in a number of layers of clothes! The attempt of a free journey failed and British Transport Police discovered the man and issued a penalty for his efforts. British Rail states as per terms of travel 'that passengers must buy a valid ticket prior to the start of their journey (as long as there are facilities such as a ticket office or working self-service machines).
I hope you've enjoyed this week's read and if you have any feel-good news you wish to share, let me know! In the meantime, enjoy your weekend, keep smiling and remember -"Better Days are coming"
