The population of LA4 is 26,392 with 12,851 dwellings.*
There are 39 listed buildings (higher than the regional average) and 9.9% of the area is public green space.
The area enjoys great transport links with 89.8% of homes within a 200m walk of a bus or train.
Plus there are plenty of places to enjoy a meal out, with an average of 2030 residents per restaurant in the area!
Of the 12,851 dwellings in LA4 4/LA4 5/LA4 6, 26.7% of properties are flats, with houses making up 73.3% of housing stock. 68.8% of households own their own homes whilst 21.4% live in privately rented accommodation.
17.4% of the population are aged between 30 and 44 which is below the regional average.
37.8% of households comprise just one person while 30.7% of households include families with children.

What people love most though about living in LA4 is that you never any further than 1.5miles from the coast. Morecambe Bay is renowned worldwide for its beautiful sunsets. The sandy beaches are clean and have blue flag status. The promenade is flat and stretches for approximately 5 miles which makes it popular with families, cyclists, walkers and wheelchair users.
Throughout the month we will visit Happy Mount Park, we will look at the schools in areas and also some of the enjoyable walks including the Morecambe Heritage Trail which takes in many of the areas Art Deco buildings.
