Welcome to Halton, one of Lancaster’s most historic villages, nestled away just 3 miles from the city and overlooking the beautiful River Lune. Halton is a village which is thriving.  Years ago, it was deemed 2nd relation to nearby Caton and Brookhouse.  Now it’s topping the list as a place to live as buyers race to move to this tranquil and community spirit led village.
Welcome to Halton

This is a village which is steeped in history and traditional values.  Take a stroll around the historic centre and you’ll soon notice characterful homes and buildings which date back to the 17th and 18th century.  Halton’s history though can be traced back to Anglo Saxon times.  In the churchyard of St Wilfred's Church stands the Halton Cross which is believed to be have been carved by Norsemen over 1000 years ago.

The village has some beautiful walks.  Stroll through the village and you can discover some of these period homes and historic features as you admire the local scenery.

Halton though is far from being a relic,  it has seen a bit of transformation in recent years with new housing developments being built,  the development of Halton Mill into a collaborative working community and of course it is also home to Forgebank,  Lancashire’s only true eco-housing community.   Halton is a village which truly embraces and understands community life.
